Thank you. PM Lee!

PM Lee Hsien Loong is stepping down as PM. I will miss him.

Many know him to be the super-intelligent, super-diligent economist, mathematician, military honcho—a prime minister who can hold his own and stand tall amongst political leaders of countries much larger than Singapore, and do us proud on the global stage.

True that. But beyond his brains, I know him too to be an authentic, kind, and caring leader.

Under his watch, PM Lee Hsien Loong placed the vulnerable, the disabled, and the seniors firmly in his political agenda; and many transformative policies in housing, education, healthcare, and social support for them were developed during these 2 decades.

To me and my teammates who volunteer or work in the charity and disability sector, PM Lee is sincere, responsive, humorous, takes the time, and treats those at risk of being left behind with gentleness and generosity. He is a quiet donor of his personal funds to many charities.

I am honoured to serve under PM Lee's watch. I hope Singapore continues to benefit from his competence and character, even after this season.

I look forward to DPM Lawrence Wong's leadership as our new PM. He has always been thoughtful and responsive to my appeals to him, especially as education and finance minister. I trust him.

Singapore is in good hands.
