PASSION FOR Disability

I am an active volunteer in the Disability sector. I learnt about the many challenges faced by this special-needs community, from raising my own autistic son and interacting with so many in the community. In trying to contribute, these are my key involvements in the last 20 years:

  • One of key architects of Singapore’s 3 five-year Enabling MasterPlan for the Disabled

  • Co-chairman of Workgroup for Jobs in the Future for  Persons with Disabilities

  • Founder and Advisor to The Purple Parade, Singapore’s largest annual gathering of the special needs community and supporters

  • Founder and Advisor to The Purple Symphony, Singapore’s largest inclusive orchestra comprising more than 100 musicians with and without special needs

  • President of Autism Resource Centre, the largest autism charity in Singapore

  • Board Member, Chairman of Services and Programmes Committee of Autism Association Singapore.
