Sticking our Necks out for the Common Good

Friends, whatever you call my CDC and I—coordinator, aggregator of needs and resources, connector/supplier of resource, programme developer, etc.—seriously, please consider joining us in sticking our necks out for the common good. #GiraffeSG

There are more than 50 programmes deserving of your support.

I was at Jalan Berseh last week, and my heart was full to see leadership and staff volunteers from MICRON come together for our CDC’s SILVER HOMES programme 🏠

Why We Do What We Do — When you see an elderly resident's living space transformed from a cluttered, sometimes unsafe environment to one that's clean and dignified, you’d understand why this work matters.

Since 2019, our 15,000 ground-up volunteers have improved living conditions for more than 2,800 seniors in rental flats.

Partnerships make all this possible. Last week’s session with Micron Singapore shows exactly how corporate partners can create direct impact. Their staff rolled up their sleeves, got down to work, and showed what meaningful corporate volunteering looks like.

This is the collaboration that’s good for the soul of society—organisations stepping forward not just with resources, but with their people's time and energy.

They join over 60 regular partner organisations, including our IHLs, corporates, and even MINDEF partners, who’ve become consistent contributors to our Silver Homes offering.

Each partner brings unique strengths to serve our seniors better. This is how we multiply our impact—through sustained partnerships.

Every home matters. Every senior counts. We can’t cover all, but we can cover as many as we can by working with as many willing and available ground partners in the district we are given. This is why we do what we do.
