Financial Fitness Festival

Staying physically, mentally, emotionally, and cognitively fit are all essential aspects of a fulfilling life. Staying financially fit matters as well.

Yesterday, my Central Singapore CDC team and I launched our very first Financial Fitness Festival with UOB at United Square. What a buzz it was!

Residents explored four fun zones—Saving, Protection, Investing, and Legacy—and each received their own financial health booklet.

This is only the beginning. From 2026, we will introduce free Financial Fitness Workshops for residents at different life stages, whether you are starting your first job, raising a family, or preparing for retirement.

Financial concerns affect many families, not only those with lower incomes. Some worry about how AI will transform jobs, while others wonder how best to support their loved ones as we live longer lives and whether we have enough to retire.

These changes may seem daunting, but they also present opportunities if we are well prepared: by equipping ourselves with practical, person-centred financial knowledge.

Financial fitness—like physical and other forms of fitness—is not a sprint, but a journey.

As Lao Tzu said, “A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.” Fear not.

A big thank you to UOB, UOL, United Square, and all our CDC partners and volunteers for helping build a stronger community together!
