Supa-Seniors Celebration

101-year-old Mr Hidayat A T proudly keeps a photo of MM Lee Kuan Yew in his wallet. He used to be a cleaner in Mr Lee’s office and remembers him dearly.

I met Mr H with other 90-year-olds at the annual Supa-Seniors celebration organised by PeaceConnect Active Ageing Centre today. Sponsored by CrimsonLogic Pte Ltd volunteers.

Did you know that Singapore has about 25,000 seniors aged over 90? In the years ahead, many more of us will reach this milestone.

As we live longer, we must also help one another live well. Active ageing matters. From welcoming spaces and healthy habits to challenging attitudes that write people off because of their age, we all have a part to play.

Our seniors are precious. Let’s keep making room for them to participate, contribute and belong.
