Moving Ahead on Disability Support
Very grateful that things disability are moving ahead positively in Singapore!
The Taskforce on Assurance for Families with Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) comprising our 5-G leaders, commissioned by PM Lawrence Wong, has been working hard since its formation in December 2025 — to review support for PWDs across life stages, especially the post-age-18 transition and adults space.
The 67-page report has been published. Various measures improving employment support, care support, future life planning, healthcare and education are in the report, and details announced over the next few months. Report at: go.gov.sg/disabilitytf2026
The Government has committed to spending up to 60% more on average on a PWD over the next few years. I believe different PWDs and their families will be impacted differently depending on their profiles and family circumstances.
There will always be more to do because this is a difficult space with many different needs and demands. Government is important but it will continue to take a Village.
I pray we will all do our part and work in our circles of influence in our personal and professional lives to support this strengthened foundation in our Singapore.
