Trying to ‘kill’ several birds with one stone - and I’m referring to the Central Singapore Market series curated by my CDC team mates and I.
CentralSingaporeMarket is a Market with a Difference – a community platform that brings together farmers, sustainable and local businesses, and celebrates inclusivity at community spaces like Zhongshan Park.
We promote healthy living through fresh, nutritious foods that make healthy choices accessible and enjoyable. Beyond fresh produce, our farmers offer all-natural plant-based sauces and dips, freeze-dried fruit and vacuum-fried vegetable snacks, pure honey, frozen chicken, and healthy snacks. You can speak with our farmers, learn about their growing methods, ask for cooking tips, and discover new products you might not find elsewhere.
At Zhong Shan Park yesterday, there was a free workshop by SusFeedSG featuring their Sustainable Aquaponic Build Kit. Families and young adults can learn hands-on about aquaponics – nature's way of raising fish alongside plants in a co-existing system.
To celebrate inclusivity, we featured two wonderful groups will charm us with their performances:
Zelotones, an amazing band with visually impaired musicians; and
Aika and Ali, singer-songwriter sisters, our emerging young talents who have been busking in Singapore since 2022. They’ve released 6 original songs in Japanese and Chinese.
#WhyWeDoWhatWe Do? Whether it's promoting health and wellness, advocating for causes such as sustainability and inclusivity, we just want to make a better life for our residents.
MOVING FORWARD
This is our 20th Central Singapore Market in Central Singapore district.
We've connected with more than 9,000 residents across Central Singapore District, parks in Bishan, Pek Kio, Lentor and Seletar Hills Estate, as well as vibrant community spaces like Ci Yuan and Leng Kee Community Club and Potong Pasir Townsquare.
If you’re in the neighborhood, mark your calendars – our next market will be at Balmoral Road on Saturday, 16 May, from 3pm to 7pm.
