Come Together, Live at Temasek Shophouse
Glad to have visited Temasek Shophouse on Sunday night for the Come Together conversations and concerts, featuring familiar faces such as Larry Lai, KF Seetoh, Jordin Tan, Irene Ang, Ang Peng Siong, Eddie Sung, and Clement Chow.
I was very pleased to catch the energetic and touching performances by Irene Ang and Clement Chow, hosted by Suhaimi Yusof. I was especially surprised to meet Eddie Sung, a former HR consultant whom I worked with when I was a younger HR manager—impressed that he made a dramatic career switch to become a renowned photographer for rock stars!
The expanded social impact hub, Temasek Shophouse (TSH), opened its doors to the public on 29 September. Restoration and design efforts across the four conserved shophouses carefully honour the buildings’ history. The introduction of new facilities and initiatives enables the public to engage with social and environmental causes in accessible ways.
Yvonne Tay, General Manager of TSH, and the Temasek Trust leadership have done an amazing job.
Do pay a visit—I hear one of the main attractions is Violet Oon’s bustling heritage Peranakan restaurant, Bibik Violet.
Temasek Trust is a valued partner of my Central CDC. We launched a successful $4 million training grant scheme for disabled adults during COVID, and I remain very thankful.
