Festive Cheers @ Central Singapore CDC

Christmas came early. FESTIVE CHEERS is an initiative by our Central CDC to partner kind businesses such as the ACCOR Hotel Group to bless our more vulnerable folks, including many seniors in the Central district.

Today, I am very pleased to have Grassroots Adviser Chai Yin Zhou and 240 of his senior residents from Toa Payoh Central join a sumptuous lunch at Accor’s Novotel Singapore on Stevens, with entertainment by talented Accor staff and local schools such as Crest Secondary.

#WhyWeDoWhatWeDo One key aspect of a long, healthy life is strong social interactions and relationships.

Events like Accor Solidarity Day give our seniors, especially those living alone, a rare chance to gather, enjoy good company and feel the festive cheer. At the same time, they get to visit places they may not usually go to and to meet new friends.

I am grateful to long-standing partner Accor, who consistently go the extra mile to give back to the community and help us make a meaningful difference in our residents’ lives. A “giraffe hero”, consistently “sticking their necks out to do good”, in the spirit of GiraffeSG, our CDC’s giving programme.
