GiraffeSG@Central with SAJC

For over a decade now, on every National Day Eve, my CDC’s long-time partner, St Andrew’s Junior College, sets aside the day to leave their school walls and be the “Giraffes”—sticking their necks out to do good for the community in different parts of the Central District.

This is especially meaningful this year as we celebrate Singapore’s 60th anniversary; and my fellow Advisors Alex Yeo (Potong Pasir) and Minister Josephine Teo (Kreta Ayer Kim Seng) joined me to thank and encourage St Andrew’s Junior College.

This year, under our refreshed GiraffeSG@Central movement, St Andrew’s Junior College students once again stepped up:

  • JC1 students cleaned and refurbished nearly 30 rental units under our Silver Homes programme, and ran other community projects.

  • JC2 students advocated and inspired others across Central Singapore to embrace the Giraffe spirit.

Thank you, St Andrew’s Junior College, for your steadfast partnership with Central Singapore CDC in shaping young changemakers and uplifting lives.

May you continue to carry the Giraffe spirit far beyond your school years.
