60 Councillors, One Shared Purpose
A warm welcome to our 60 new and returning District Councillors at the first Council Meeting of our 12th Central District CDC term last night!
Our Councillors come from different walks of life, each bringing different experiences, skills and networks.
What brings us together is a shared purpose: to build a Do-Good District and better the lives of our residents. We do this through partners in businesses, grassroots advisors and volunteers, schools, and social service agencies.
Our mission is ABC:
A — Aggregating common needs and resources
B — Building capabilities
C — Connecting stakeholders and residents
Here’s a 3-minute video for a glimpse of what our Central CDC is already running:
For this upcoming 3-year term, Councillors will serve in 8 Work Teams where they can put their strengths to good use — bringing in partners and resources, and helping us find practical solutions to shared needs on the ground.
Our eight Work Teams are:
Finance
Communications
Financial Wellness
Physical Wellness / Sustainability
Socio-Emotional Wellness / Inclusivity
Lifelong Learning (Children & Youth)
Lifelong Learning (Adults)
Serving Others (Volunteers & Fundraising)
A big THANK YOU to Councillors and my CDC teammates who work alongside me to turn ideas into action.
Do look out for our upcoming new initiatives!
