A Purposeful Weekend

I often remind myself to never wear busyness as a badge; and always check myself on #WhyIDoWhatIDo.

This busy weekend is a purposeful one for me – as a disability volunteer; as mayor of Central Singapore CDC as MP and grassroots adviser for my Kampong Glam residents and as friend.

  • Chaired an AGM for a $100 million-large charity I help run – so happy to bring in 5 new board members to take it through the next era of dreams and challenges.

  • Partnered my strong CDC partner, SMRT, to bring CHESS to 2 Mass Rapid Transits at Bras Basah and Botanic Gardens.

  • Completed the last of 10 National Day parties in my constituency so residents and I can honour Singapore together – and remember the good of our country.

  • Supported the art and discipline of Chinese calligraphy amongst our young with the passionate Chinese Calligraphy Association of Singapore.

  • Made time to pay respect to a deceased community friend; and then dine with dear colleagues turned friends whom I worked with in China as a young HP executive.
