Teachers' Day 2025

This year, I had the joy of celebrating Teachers’ Day with the incredible staff of one preschool and two special schools I volunteer directly with. Staff had a wonderful time at the Mandai Wildlife Reserve, a K-pop centre, and a hotel function!

Education has always been a key priority for Singapore, reflected in every year's national budget.

I have personally seen so many more resources being channelled to uplift our pre-school and special education sectors—on top of our precious mainstream schools. And for that, I am truly thankful.

The landscape of education is rapidly evolving in response to new social and economic needs. For instance, the Ministry of Education has now taken on the critical role of educating adults—a topic I had raised in Parliament years ago—and has brought SkillsFuture under its wings.

The journey ahead in education will be exciting (and at times, daunting!). But our beloved educators and partners will continue to be the strongest allies in nurturing our learners, young and old.

To all educators, coaches, therapists, early interventionists, and many partners in the mission of education: THANK YOU. Wishing you a very happy and restful school holidays!
