International Day for Women in Maritime 2026
A quick recap of the event: https://www.facebook.com/reel/1362185045738247/
Mother Theresa famously shared, “If you cannot feed a thousand, then go feed one.” This was one of the calls I made at a recent panel discussion on GIVING at a maritime forum.
I shared too some reflections on what seem to work for my team mates and I when we serve:
focusing on our circle of influence, rather than on our circles of concern
being part of the solution, beyond problem identification
exercising courage and consideration for others
finding one’s ‘service’ best from studying one’s (1) Talent and (2) Passion AND what (3) needs of Others
and not taking things too personally nor giving up too easily. After all, as someone wise once quipped, “the best way to avoid any criticism - do nothing, say nothing and be nothing”
I’m so grateful to represent Central Singapore District in this awesome evening forum organised by Mitsui OSK Lines with several key maritime business representatives. My dynamic co-panelists:
Moderator Sakura Kuma (MD MOL Asia Oceania)
Tan Beng Tee (ED, S’pore Maritime Foundation)
Tomoaki Ichida (MD, CEO MOL Chemical Tankers)
Chin Yi Zhuan (DCE, Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore)
They presented a wealth of knowledge from decades of experience in the maritime industry.
I’m delighted too to meet an audience I don’t usually get to meet - leaders, especially women leaders from this important industry.
Looking forward to have them join the maritime industry in some of the community initiatives in Central Singapore and beyond.
See you again.
