Opening of Magical Bridge Playground at Sun Plaza Park

A big 'magical' inclusive playground is now opened at Tampines Sun Plaza Park! Big thanks to donor Steckler Foundation, playground expert Magical Bridge Foundation, NParks and many who gave feedback.

Swing zone, Hideaway Hut, Slide zone, Kindness wall with arts pieces by special-needs art talents, Spin zone etc where folks of all ages and abilities can play.

I first know the Stecklers in Singapore before COVID when they were interested in creating inclusive parks and jobs. Introduced them to National Parks Board who took over the co-planning.

Vince Steckler unfortunately passed away in an accident in the USA but his wife, Singaporean Amanda and their foundation CE Scott, carried on with the good work and mission.

CEO Olenka from Magical Bridge provided the expertise and worked closely with the amazing National Parks Board team to set up now 2 inclusive playgrounds first near our Singapore Museum and now in the Tampines neighbourhood.

And the outcome is magical! I was so glad to see several young people with disabilities happily join many others in using these facilities.

And NParks of course stamped their magic touch too by having us plant trees and educating us on the biodiversity of nature!
