ROLE AS AN MP AND GRASSROOTS ADVISOR
Well into my fourth term as MP of Kampong Glam under the Jalan Besar GRC, I am happy to serve my residents in many areas.
As we continue to navigate through COVID-19, many of our initiatives have evolved, and some have come back even stronger.
Many of our activities are not only driven by the Kampong Glam division team but also through active community participation.
Our initiatives include:
Key estate improvements, including Home Improvement Programmes, Lift Upgrading Programmes, covered link ways and overhead bridge lifts in many precincts
Bringing together previously uncoordinated services for our elderly residents through PeaceConnect Senior Activity Centres
Financial and social assistance for lower-income households, including Adopt a Family scheme, Milk and Diaper scheme, Tuition with Love programme
Installation of several signature programmes to build community cohesion including Breakfast with Love, National Day Block Parties
Follow me on my journey through my posts as I navigate the different programmes in Kampong Glam.

I'm very pleased to support St Andrew's Autism Centre's Walk Of A Lifetime this morning. This is a cause looking into the affordability and accessibility of services for adults with disabilities — an identified gap in the sector. I'm glad I'm still around to see all of this.
Inspired by Prof Tommy Koh - 88 years young, and still so active and interested in people and causes. If I live till 88, I hope I will be the same.
My team and I truly want to spread the thought of loving and appreciating Singapore especially in our national birthday month. We happily brought 10 National Day Parties to thousands of residents in Kampong Glam. Very grateful to all the awesome volunteers, staff and partners who made this annual tradition a dream come true!
We are not a perfect country and people; but we're all we've got. Be an influencer, don't just be concerned, be part of the solution and make Singapore greater together!
Deeply heartened by how it is mobilising so many volunteers to touch so many lives across Singapore, regardless of race, language or religion.
August is 'LOVE SINGAPORE' month, and that means lots of National Day Parties are just around the corner! My team and I are bringing 10 National Day Parties to 10 Residential Zones. This year's theme is 'UNIQUELY SINGAPORE' — a celebration of the people, places and little moments that make our Lion City so special.
Love it when useful initiatives like this are appreciated and organically grow with more and more willing donors and volunteers!
Formed since 1979, the Dins self organise and self fund their world tours — giving back as part of their learning. Now they perform at A Very Special Voice 2026 this Saturday, together with students from Pathlight School, to raise funds for adults on the spectrum.
Happy that I got to share happenings in their neighbourhood and in the central district today at Kent Heights!
